Ace
Ace is a CDB-infused chewing gum brand that presents itself as classic and prestigious. The overall aesthetic for the brand revolves around poker and playing cards. Art deco style was a big inspiration for this project as it is evident in the spades symbol and the custom wordmark.
A set of six patterns was designed to distinguish each flavour. The patterns were also inspired by the art deco era to further classify Ace as a classic brand.
A short video promo was made to showcase the brand and product in context while focusing on the brand’s identity and its target audience.
Trying to find the look and feel of the brand was a challenge. For the type, options from geometric to hand-drawn were explored. Narrowing down the variations by choosing art deco as an inspiration helped to find the right look for the type. A few different variations for the symbol were also designed with varying level of details considering how small it can be printed on the package.
